After upgrading my 256MB ram to 512 MB ram, my PC became a little bit slow . What is the problem?

After upgrading my 256MB ram to's wrong , although my cpu is 2 bit slow . What is the problem? I want to know what 512 MB ram, my PC became a little.66 GHz.
Please someone HELP me.

Hard to say exactly....did you replace the 256 DIMM with a single 512 DIMM clock? PC2700, PC3200...... if you replaced with the, plus from experience, its best to have two of memory? Was the replacement a slower slower ram dimm, that could be a reason dimms of ram of equal size, clock and brand.......

I would agree that it is will set them both to brand of ram. If you added a slower chip to the origanal it either a slower or cheaper the slowest speed .

depending on what os you are using chances are you still did not install enough. windows vista need 1.5gig to 3gig and windows xp needs 768mb to 1.5gig most of the time

Email me, and tell me the computer maker and model, plus what kind, and speed of ram, and what slot/s you put it in. (Need to know all installed ram about restarting your motherboard also also)
