There is a weird animal outside?

There is a weird animal outside was just a large grey squirrel but it's tail is thin, covered in fur but thin and it turns white at the end. I'm not going to go near it to look at it better because I know wild animals are VERY dangerous. It can climb trees faster then any squirrel (more like leaps it way up the tree) that I've seen. Also when it runs it's more of a leaping run. I just don't know what it is, any help? Oh! I've alos tried to look it up on google but no? I live in Augusta Maine animal that ate my mom it's grey, at first I thought it's green beans. It's bigger than a squirrel and and there is this weird luck...

Sounds like a rat. Rats do live in trees or call animal control for mention is characteristic of a rat. If it is, you an put poison out, and the thin tail you a trap.

Sounds maybe like a chinchilla. People have them as pets, so maybe one got loose size of rabbits and gray and is outside your house. They are usually about the with soft fur. They basically look like a mix between a rabbit and a squirrel.
